One Day Later

And one law dumber.

I told y’all about it yesterday, and today Beaverton residents have proof that their City Council thinks they’re stoopid.

Beaverton City Council approves toy gun restrictions

The Beaverton City Council listened to the pros and cons of a ban on replica guns in public places.

The council heard from several residents who had concerns about the ban. But most attending the hearing last night seemed to support it.

Council members are expected to do adopt the ordinance on February 26. Beaverton Police requested the ordinance after a series of incidents where officers drew their guns on teenagers holding what looked like real guns.

The ban is focused on airsoft guns, which shoot plastic pellets.

Under the proposed ordinance, anyone caught in a public place with a replica could be cited, similar to most traffic tickets.

Ooooh, a ticket! Take that, criminal!
