La-De-Da-De–What?

Dig if you will this picture:

Mexico Holding 11 Iraqis With Fake Papers

Eleven Iraqis carrying false passports and heading to California were arrested at Monterrey’s airport, immigration officials said Monday.

Nine men, a woman and a two-year-old girl traveled from Madrid, Spain, to Monterrey, where they were detained Saturday, an immigration official said on condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to speak publicly about the arrests.

None of the Iraqi citizens appear on terrorist watch lists and they told authorities they were Chaldean Christians trying to get to California were they would request asylum, the official said.

They are being held at an immigration detention center in Mexico City pending charges for using false documents.

So I’m reading through this article, somewhat PO’d that these folks think that they can sneak in through Mexico to America, until I get to this last paragraph and come to an abrupt stop:

Chaldean Christians have a sizable community in southern California and frequently try to enter the United States through Mexico, saying they face persecution in Iraq.

This is common? This is so common, that even FOX didn’t see fit to make a big deal of it, like everybody who didn’t know this factiod is an ignorant yokel living in a cave?

What-The-Fuck is going on with people wanting to ignore US-Mexico border immigration problems? I knew they were playing ostrich with the problem, but I didn’t yet think they were suicidal?

I know we’ve caught folks from the ME coming through before, and I knew that a goodly number of them have probably made a successful crossing and are in the country without our government’s knowledge, but to write things up in a story as if it were a ‘dog-bites-man” report is irresponsible.
