Monday Dog Blogging

For the last week, the Analog Wife and I have been hosting what has become the newest member of the Analog Household.

Her name is Mrs. Butterworth

She is a 10yr old tweenie Dachsund and we found her via a local Dachsund rescue. Butterworth’s history is a mostly unknown to us, though she looks to have been a breeder who just got too old to be useful.

She has a skin condition that requires her to get a bath every 2-3 days and requires a special diet. Two very minor points that, unfortunately, make the vast majority of folks looking to adopt turn her away.

The Analog Wife fell in love with Dachshunds after adopting Jake a few years back. With the grief of his passing back in February in the past, she decided that it was time for us to improve the living conditions of another.

Mrs. Butterworth has already taken on Ellie, our Rott/Dobie mix, and won the barking war, but since Butterworth can’t get up on the dog bed because of its height, a truce has been called. Our Dorgie, Russell, isn’t bothered in the least bit by her, although Butterworth’s frequent baths are beginning to worry him that the wife will want to get him bathed as well.

Speaking of Russell, he was very photogenic this weekend

Look at that handsome profile. Much more respectable than his last appearance on these pages

Russell’s first appearence may not have been dignified, but it sure was cute.
