History Buffs Day 2

Another student of mine, who is also a lover of history, that I would like to tell you about is Miss Maria. She comes to OTI from Rome, Italy.

It is customer for modern day Roman residents to celebrate June 4th as the day the Allies captured Rome from the henchmen of Mussolini. Now, some neighborhoods don’t do anything on this day, but in some there are feasts and even small parades. Miss Maria is from one of the more celebratory neighborhoods.

In fact, one of the pictures she included in her portfolio to OTI during the admission process was this one

This is her, standing in her bedroom window during the portion of the parade in which the veterans of the Battle for Rome march past.

Talk about gratitude.
