Because It Is True

Raging Dave at the 4 Right Wing Wackos blog did me the favor of linking to my little diatribe on how the eco-socialist cult has destroyed the recycling industry. In his post, he notes the term I use to describe them.

I admit it is a recent addition to my vocabulary on these folks and is quite blunt, but I have my reasons for this:

They claim that nothing comes before the ecosystem; not country; not even their own families.

They are socialists, plain and simple. Their hatred for everything capitalist proves that.

They are a cult because of the ecology they worship and because you cannot be a cult without a Doomsday Prophecy, which they now have with the Climate Change boogeyman.

It all started with Global Cooling, then they switched it up to Global Warming when temperatures started going up and now the popular, all-encompassing phrase, so that they cannot be proved wrong ever again is Climate Change.

While I’ll admit that parts of the planet are getting warmer, because these people cannot even scientifically prove what happens to CO and CO2 when it hits the atmosphere, they haven’t the proof to say that my V8 truck, and everyone else’s V8 trucks are at fault. When they can tell me a theory that is more than a guess with a label, I’ll start thinking about believeing.

Until then, they can pucker up.

From The Agitator blog comes proof that they themselves see Climate Change as a piece of apocolyptic propaganda:

Before President Bush touched down in Pennsylvania Wednesday to promote his nuclear energy policy, the environmental group Greenpeace was mobilizing.

“This volatile and dangerous source of energy” is no answer to the country’s energy needs, shouted a Greenpeace fact sheet decrying the “threat” posed by the Limerick reactors Bush visited.

But a factoid or two later, the Greenpeace authors were stumped while searching for the ideal menacing metaphor.

We present it here exactly as it was written, capital letters and all: “In the twenty years since the Chernobyl tragedy, the world’s worst nuclear accident, there have been nearly [FILL IN ALARMIST AND ARMAGEDDONIST FACTOID HERE].”

They can’t even be bothered to come up with a “Factoid” while sitting at their PC’s writing out the flyers.

If they can’t be bothered to come up with facts, I don’t know why I should be expected to listen and especially to believe.

I don’t know if you’ve seen this AK, but it covers a good deal of the debate over man vs nature being the biggest polluter. Clearly, even today, man comes in a very distant second to mother nature when it comes to pouring dirt into the air.

I don’t think anyone serious joins these eco groups. You’re entirely right about them being cults, with a dogmatic religious type of certainty in their divine mission. No one who puts anything before their family, before their country is entirely sane.

  2. I knew many of them in College, I went to UC Santa Cruz after all. Many grew up but not out – mentally they remain in the Dorms. My belief is that it’s mainly a way to meet chicks and find adventure, and that is self-validating so it continues. It’s the Knightly Adventure of fighting mighty dragon-like “Corporations” – titanic entities bigger and more powerful than they, and for which they have no real operational understanding. That takes a particular, stunted, and child-like world-view. It’s a world we all inhabit but one in which they do not participate or recognize as nascent pre-adults: insurance, families, transportation, food, clothing, shelter even – they see it all through the eyes of Peter Pan.
