She Outshot Jack Bauer!

From my wife’s copy of this month’s NRA’s Woman’s Outlook:

Eva Longoria told Cosmopolitan magazine that being from Texas, she and her family “kill wild pigs for tamales,” according to published reports.  The “Desperate Housewives” star said “hunting is a family thing” and they kill only what they can eat. Longoria is reportedly such a good shot she beat Keifer Sutherland and Michael Douglas at a shooting range while filming the movie “The Sentinel,” according to NBC4.com.

Oh, yeah! I’m partial to Latinas anyway, but she outshot Jack Bauer! That’s my kind of woman!

Moreover, I’d definitely kill a pig to make tamales out of it! going to California’s Central Valley to assist with my wife’s family’s annual Thanksgiving tamale cookout is always enjoyable, not the least because homemade tamales are pretty much the food of the Gods. As the gringo in the family, I get to tend the firepit. I’m a bit of a firebug, so I don’t mind.

Now what I want to know is, why didn’t they have this article in American Rifleman this month? Did they not realize that many male NRA members would find this an interesting and enlightening subject? Inquiring minds want to know!

I remember reading that in one of the NRA mags a few months back. It may have been a preview or something, but I distinctly recall those lines. (The ones about shooting, not her lines)

Yeah, I saw that article in my wife’s copy also. And since my wife is a die-hard ‘Desperate Housewives’ fan, she found it awesome.

We’re Desperate Housewives addicts ourselves. Our DVR viewing at this point:

    Newshour with Jim Lehrer, PBS
Family Guy, Fox, Sundays (when it’s on)
    Desperate Housewives, ABC, Sundays
    24, Fox, Mondays
    Scrubs, NBC (Tuesdays? I think)
    Battlestar Galactica, Sci-Fi, Fridays

Also, my wife watches old Little House on the Prairie reruns, and I watch Shooting Gallery and American Rifleman TV on the Outdoor Channel. (I stopped watching Guns & Ammo TV because Boddington and crew take far too much time to get to the guns & ammo; they just won’t shut up. They improved earlier this season, but now they’re back to blathering on and on in the intro.)

All of this stuff magically appears on the DVR, so we really don’t know when the episodes are initially broadcast. (I had to go look up the days of the week, above.) I love computers….
