More Proof

That becoming a ‘front-pager’ at the Daily Kos depends mostly on how much ass you can kiss.

On Tuesday, I picked on Kos ‘front-pager’ SusanG for being a nitwit and pulling a complete non-truth out of an article. Today, I will carry on what is becoming a tradition to see how badly SusanG can screw up.

U.S. Puts Machine Guns on Great Lakes Coast Guard Vessels

Continuing lickety-split down the road of militarization of civilian life – and turning what used to be considered straightforward law enforcement policies into gung-ho, army-oriented problem solving – CBC News brings us the latest.

Feel safer yet?

Susan has a problem with the Great Lakes Coasties being armed.

Firstly, I had to try not to choke on my soda due after finding out that it is only now, four and-a-half years after September 11th, 2001 and over six years after some jughead jihadi tried to smuggle explosives through a border stop just north of me, that we are arming USCG vessels on the Great Lakes.

Canada not arming their border guards was them being typical Canadians, but America leaving the lake fleet with just small arms is insane.

After inhibiting the rising vitriol, I went and read the CBC article (which you should do as well) to find that their main focus with the rearmament is to outgun smugglers, both the illicit product and the human cargo varieties, and secondly to try and stop small craft that may be explosives laden and piloted by someone who wants to die for Allah.

Surprisingly, some sensical, and probably better suited for ‘front-page’ exposure Kos readers whipped Susan for being a dork and informed her that the United States Coast Guard has always had both a civilian and a military role and that this is probably the minimum they requested.

To the ladies and gentlemen of the United States Coast Guard, Semper Paratus and thank you.
