The Soundboard: Quote of the Day Edition

With all of this Randiness going on on a daily basis around these parts, I figured I had better make an effort to post the song I had originally intended to post last week before my co-worker got all snarky about the band Rush. Today’s tune is from the same album that last week’s tune, 2112, was on, which was why I was listening to said album in the first place.

Rush and Ayn Rand have a bit of a connection according to some and I would tend to agree after hearing and buying their entire library, though I am not positive.

Just looking at the 2112 album, the title track (actually a saga of sorts) has been compared to Rand’s book ‘Anthem’ and Peart has admitted that he was reading said book during the time he wrote 2112. Also, the opening track of the album ‘Fly By Night’ as well as the band’s publishing company are titled ‘Anthem’. But Rand never made mention or even seemed to take notice of the group, probably mostly due to her vehement dislike of rock music. So form your own opinion.

But enough of that, let’s get to some tunage.

Something for Nothing – Rush

BTW, you will find the snark box has been refilled with words from this tune.

Enjoy!
