I’ve got my eyes on a couple already, and am trying to think of a way to convince the wife that an 18×24 of this would look great in the family room.

The key words here are “family room”. You’re family, dude.
Although, I’m not sure I would want that one. The background happens to be enveloped in an eerie fog, the soldier is standing on the military crest, a tactical no-no, and the subject (soldier) is far too small in relation to the rest of the picture.
Not the best composition, in my book, AK, but whatever floats your boat.
