I have always raised my personal color coded “Threat Level’ at least one bar higher whenever the Anarchists come to town. I believe that if it isn’t firearms owners starting the blowback when the confiscation crews assemble or the property owners when the state evictions begin, it will be the Anarchists rampaging during or after their little ‘Hate-America Festivals�.
Which means my ears got pointy when I read about the San Francisco cop getting assaulted over the weekend by chuckleheads taking part in an anti-G8 rally in that town.
On November 30th, 1999 (aka N30 to the freaks), Seattle’s downtown got the full brunt of the WTO protesters unhinged angst. For hours on end, folks young and old, male and female, and most of them wearing the standard uniform of the neo-Anarchist left rampaged through the commercial district of downtown Seattle, breaking anything that could be broken, stealing anything they could carry and burning most everything else.
The streets Olive Way and Madison Street lead directly from the downtown commercial district to the Capital Hill commercial district and the only thing that kept the mob from taking those paths out of downtown to go tear up some more property that wasn’t theirs were the Seattle Police officers, the Washington State Patrol Troopers and the King County Sheriff’s deputies who were already on scene and in riot gear.
Which is sad because Capital Hill is populated by people who just cannot stand officers of the peace and actually blame THE OFFICERS for starting the mayhem. After I first heard that, I wished that they had let the hoodlums head east for some more property destruction.
What I’m basically trying to point out is that while there were minor injuries in the officer corps, some of them from the guy next to them, the vast majority of them were minor.
Now we have not only an officer who was hit by a blunt object thrown from inside a crowd of these very same Anarcho-loonies and is in the ICU ward of the hospital with a skull fracture and brain swelling because of it, but the losers are cheering the attack on the local IMC.
If you read no other parts of the ‘By Ourselves, For Ourselves’ series, I hope you at least read the very first one. If you’ve read it in the past and have some spare time today, re-read it and think about things that will raise your personal threat bar. Be rational and be thoughtful.

Also, there’s a $10,000 reward for the piece-of-shit who injured the officer; report on local TV last night indicated he was hit on the head with a hammer – so it wasn’t a “bravely” thrown bottle, it was a much more violent form of “direct action.”
But where do the stupids demonstrate? The Mission district is a poor and mostly (now) Hispanic neighborhood where they break windows – why? Do they expect to gain recruits by this display of retardation, or does it mean, like ganbangers who “tag” their own property, that they have a local means of easy escape and hiding, that the “neighbors” won’t give them up…
