The last time The Kid visited me here at The Occidental Tush Institute, the other university in town was having a protest. He went down to the location of the demonstration to “Laugh at the hippies” for a couple hours while I was working on some instructional materials.
When he came back, he told me about what he saw and said that he had been called a bunch of things that probably shouldn’t be put into the written word, but the one that stuck with me was that someone called him “A Patriotic Ass”.
I don’t know why it stuck with me, but I’m glad it did because that is what I’m going to show off this 4th of July weekend as I made it a class project for my first and second year students this week.
Which means that they will need some explanation, so….
These are some of my first years students who, because of the housing shortage on campus, live in a nearby apartment. They got the colors right but they didn’t get them in order and they let their other roommate, who isn’t even enrolled, get into the picture.
They will all get a C-
I grade curves, but not on one.
You can probably tell that these girls are from my second year class. Nice backdrop, ‘artsy’ angle and better outfits with the cowboy hat being an especially nice touch.
Uniquely American!
However, while they did get the colors right and in the proper order, Monica, on the right, seems to have lost the whole idea with her black bikini.
Christina, Sara and Holly will all bet B+’s while she will get a B-. But only because the location was her idea.
