Where’s the tolerance on their side?

Three weeks ago there was a minor kerfuffle here in the Seattle/Tacoma area when an anonymous whiner complained to the Washington State Department of Licensing about a vehicle plate that read “JOHN316�.

The DoL’s Official Review Board convened and finally decided that her plate was not offensive and since that is the only criteria in denying a personalized plate, she was allowed to keep it.

The anonymous whiners e-mail went as follows: “I was offended that I have to be prayed over by a license plate.� “What happened to keeping church and state separate?�

Good lord, there are some truly stupid fucking people out there. Since when does the state issuing a personalized license plate become an endorsement of religion?

But I have no doubt whatsoever that the same woman who “feltâ€? as if she was being prayed over by a freaking LICENSE PLATE would have abosolutely no complaint about this plate, that is not only very real, but is probably offensive to all but 129 of this state’s voters.
