Part 3: The 90’s

I heard this song on one of the burgeoning hip hop stations during my senior year in high school. It got played, like, twice and went away (probably because it isn’t the least bit hip hop) but I still bought the cassette and played it until it wore out.

Then I bought the CD.

Which I still have, BTW. The thing is in the original digital disc format, which is so ancient (in digital music standards) that the vast majority of today’s CD players can’t read it, though it is virtually scratch free (a little adhesive plastic film goes a long way).

Anyway, you’ll never recognize their faces, but you’ll never forget their name. With 1000 sampled guitars, octophonic 808’s, a strobe and a yell, I give you
