Saturday Quickie

I’m off to the range again this rainy and blustery Seattle day.

We have been short of airborn H2O this year so far, so I am not going to complain, especially since this is typical March weather for the area and I feel we’ve been pretty lucky as of late for the nice weather.

I got a new toy in the mail yesterday that I’ll show off tomorrow after I’m done playing with it today. Its not uber-kewl, but it seems rather neato to me.

I also got my ammo shipment of PMC 308 168gr Sierra MatchKing to play with, so guess what I’ll be shooting today.

UPDATE: Then again, maybe not. If I would have paid more attention to their website I would have noticed that they rifle range was closed all day today for a CMP workshop. Oh well, there is always tomorrow.

I want to leave you with something I got emailed to me from Rivrdog. He doesn’t really trust it’s validity so he asked me. I have never heard about it, so now I will ask all of you if you know anything about the event.

The following mind-boggling attempt at a crime spree in Washington USA appeared to be the robber’s first (and last), due to his lack of a previous record of violence, and his terminally stupid choices:

1. His target was H&J Leather & Firearms, A gun shop specializing in handguns.

2. The shop was full of customers – firearms customers.

3. To enter the shop, the robber had to step around a marked police patrol car parked at the front door.

4. A uniformed officer was standing at the counter, having coffee before work. Upon seeing the officer, the would-be robber announced a hold-up, and fired a few wild shots from a .22 target pistol. The officer and a clerk promptly returned fire, the police officer with a 9mm Glock 17, the clerk with a .50 Desert Eagle, assisted by several customers who also drew their guns, several of whom also fired, The robber was pronounced dead at the scene by Paramedics. Crime scene investigators located 47 expended cartridge cases in the shop. The subsequent autopsy revealed 23 gunshot wounds. Ballistics identified rounds from 7 different weapons. No one else was hurt in the exchange of fire.

It supposedly happened in my home state but doesn’t list a town or even the name of the store, so I am taking it as an urban myth.

Even though I wished it would happen at my favorite retailer of firearms. Heck, I’d like it to happen at my favorite grocery store.
