Kospost

Kind of like compost but involving the left wing of the blogosphere.

I have been filing away posts from the Daily Kos for a little while but haven’t had the time, energy or vitriol to dig into them.

Until now.

From last Thursday, Kos himself digs into Tom DeLay for taking a trip to South Korea that was paid for by a foreign agent. That is a big no-no.

But what Kos fails to point out is that insolent Democratic Socialist and friend to the Daily Kos, ‘Baghdad’ Jim McDermott (D-Neverland) seems to have taken the same trip.

Why is Kos kicking no dust up on that little factoid I wonder? This would be McDermott’s second probable ethics violation after that situation with him distributing the illegally recorded cell phone conversations that he has lied about repeatedly and has been ordered to pay compensation for.

On Friday, Kos gets his dander up and starts screeching about how the American right are just like the Taliban of Afghanistan. He lists examples, most of which barely touch, and has six paragraphs of paranoid delusion.

Although he never does talk about the times Republicans executed citizens in soccer stadiums, gang raped 12 year old girls in retribution for their 5 year old sisters going outside the family home unattended or made a saint out of an international terrorist.

Oh wait, that is because none of that ever happened.

What a turd.

On Saturday, dK administrator Armondo pulls a post by dK diarist TocqueDeville up from the slime. TocqueDeville decides to take on Nicolas Kristof’s article “The Death of Environmentalism, which invariably turns into a train wreck.

You see, Kristof argues that the fanatics (aka Enviroloons) on that side of the debate use too many improvable facts, too much hyperbole and fear mongering so that no one trusts them anymore and they actually scare people away.

Which is all true. TocqueDeville spouts bile and goes on to prove Kristof right by posting a poll with this question at the end of his diary,

What’s more “extremist”?

A – Chaining yourself to a 500 year old redwood tree to save it, or
B – Clearcutting 90% of our country’s forest in a single century?

Of course, you are supposed to answer B. Too bad for Tocque that it never really happened and would be nigh impossible. Whereas A happens all the damn time.

Oh, and in the poll, Tocque spelled the word ‘forest’ wrong. Go look. Uneducated in both spelling and environmental issues. What a winner the enviroloons have on their side!

And finally, yesterday our friendly dK administrator, Armondo, goes and shows us just how quickly the left can move goalposts.

That hardcore rightwing Christian paper, the New York Times published an article about how, during the early days of the invasion of Iraq, there was a lack of US military security at facilities housing equipment for the manufacture of, wait for it, WMD.

That’s right folks, there were no WMD! But if there were, Bush and Rumsfeld screwed up and all the equipment for making it was looted in the early days of the invasion of Iraq.

I just wish the left would make up their damn minds. I know you have to be mentally unstable to be one of their faithful members, but you’d think the medication would kick in sooner rather than later.
