Part 2
So last week at this time I intro’d most of you all to europop circa Y2K, which is an eternity in party circles. This week, we’re gonna get a little more recent.
First up, since I screwed up the link to the local high school’s radio station, here is a new link to Nathan Hale High School’s KNHC webcast. This morning they’re in the middle of their ‘Save the Wave’ 80’s New Wave music show. If you get in their quick, you could be taken back to a land of neon and sythesizers.
But back to this week’s selection:
My, My, My – Armand Van Helden
And you thought last week’s selection was repetitive.
This one just straight up kicks my ass, especially the one mix I like to call the Enduromix. 28 minutes long with multiple fades, rhythm changes and beats up to 210BPM.
This one is barely seven minutes long, but still kicks ass. No, I don’t know if that is Michael Jackson on vox, I bought the mp3, not the album.
I too am a Sucker for a Hook. Here in the SF Bay Area the local party/dance station KNGY “Energy” 92.7 has been playing the “Bla Bla Bla” edit of L’Amour Toujours a lot. If you haven’t heard it, it has its charms in comparison with the original. Aw hell, I like it better than the original: Two hooks for the price of one….
Glad to see I’m not the only one. I do have most of the remixes, but I’m not up for releasing rarities yet after what I went through to find most of them.
That one is definitely one of the better ones.
