He is a big believer in kharma

So now let Rep. Dennis Kucinich (Dork-OH) receive some of it.

Due to the new census figures, Ohio will lose two seats in Congress. The Ohio Legislature (Republican) will redraw the map with 16 instead of 18 districts for the 2012 Election. Speculation nationally, and more importantly, in Ohio is that my district may be eliminated, absorbed into parts of other districts. Keep in mind, given the early Ohio primary, the filing deadline could be only a year away.

We shall soon see just how tolerant a more realistic sample of Ohioans are of the Kuchie-man’s hard-left ideas and votes.

New Year’s Resolution

I resolve that someday, somehow, I will have the sort of indoor shooting range complex in this video on property I own.

Maybe not in California, but a man can dream….

Boomershoot!

The jockeying for positions commenced for last year’s attendees at 6pm Pacific time this evening, and this year the RNS Crew has reserved Positions 73, 74, 75 and 76 on the West End.

Oh, and Joe pointed out that Michael Bane’s Boomershoot episode of Shooting Gallery is showing this week.

Check out the very cool trailer at the link. I’m particularly fond of the portion starting at 1:10 in which my specialty pistols make a cameo appearance.

A Happy Singleton 2011

I have had a devil of a time finding my new favorite single-malt outside of a bar, but my friend Porus spent the afternoon searching it out as a surprise! Thank you!!!

New Peace of Mind in Earthquake Country

For those (like me and Phil) who live in earthquake country, Peter Yanev’s book was the Bible of earthquake preparedness back when first written in the ’70s. The post-Loma Prieta 1991 edition improved on the original, and in 2009 he came out with the completely revised third edition.

Buy it, read it.

What Say Ye

I read this idea on a place on the web most folks don’t go and want to see what you all think about it.

It is called The Wyoming Rule:

Under this system the standard Representative-to-Population ratio would be set by the least populated state, in this case, Wyoming. The result would be districts containing on average of 568,300 people instead of the 710,767.

This would result in the House of Representatives being increased from our current 435 member to approximately 540, give or take a few.

It sounds much more (and I dislike to use this word) “fair”.

However, I cannot think of a time when more politicians was a good thing.

What say ye?

It never takes very long

By now you’ve probably hear about the “study” that purports to show that folks on the right have larger Amygdalas than leftists, and therefore have a greater ability to sense a threat and plan for “worst case scenarios”.

Of course, this was hailed by leftists and they proclaimed it as proof that “conservatives are great big scaredy cats.” The study also listed leftists as having more “courage” and optimism due to their larger Anterior Cingulate. I put quotes around the word courage, because while most equate “courage” with “bravery”, the research shows that the author of the “study” uses it to mean “open to more ideas”.

I guess that when you’re willing to believe anything, anything will pass as a compliment.

I also put the word study in quotes because this is a preliminary discovery, and even the author states it doesn’t show if these sections of the brain are genetically larger or if they are grown by a person throughout their lifetime.

But all that aside, over at the hate-filled big “P” progressive site, Crooks and Liars, it took exactly three commenters to get one that suggests people have their brains scanned and those with large Amygdalas be “quarantined for their own good”. He has even come up with a name for it.

And yet you and I are the ones they say people need to be worried about.
