When Your Government Parents Fight, Childlike Citizens Lash Out

And, you know, shoot up workplaces, set themselves on fire, drive into the White House gates, have meltdowns on the floor of Congress, etc.

Sure am glad we stopped that shutdown nonsense — For The Children!

Just working to better the community

My subversive nature has taken to leaving my year or two old editions of firearms industry magazines such as Guns & Ammo and American Rifleman on the desks in the classroom.

Despite what your initial thoughts about what the reaction to this might be, this has not led to getting them pulled and tossed, and instead has led to many a discussion about firearms between myself and my fellow students, as well as among just the other students AND the students and the instructors.

On a related note, I overheard this conversations on Monday.

Student: “Hey Don, how hard would it be to make one of these in the fab shop?” (pointing to a picture of an AR mag).

Instructor: “Depends on if you want to use two pieces of sheet metal or just one. Why?”

Student: “I think I’m going to try getting one put together sometime.”

Instructor: “Cool. You should start with two pieces. Do you have one to copy?”

Student: “Yep.”

I do enjoy this class.

But on a slightly different note, the other day Wolf said something which reminded me that I’m going to be able to build double walled vaults before I’m done here. Anybody else want one? Have gun and torch. Will travel.

I, I, I, Wanna Know!

Would you or someone you know go to a college whose credits are recognized nationally if this college offered an Associates Degree in the Applied Science of Gunsmithing?

I want to talk to these people be they regular readers or not.

Seriously, if you know someone who might, give them my email addy (up there on the top bar) and tell them to write me. Spread the word. This is important.

He certainly got their attention

Alan Gottlieb announced on Thursday that he, the Second Amendment Foundation, as well as a couple of hundred other pro-civil rights groups would sponsor December 14th (aka Sandy Hook Anniversary) to be “Gun Save Lives” Day.

That didn’t go over well because Seattle leftists.

I’ll do my part to take part.

Also mentioned in the article, even though it has nothing to do with Gottlieb or the December date in particular is that supporters of Initiative 594, which would bring “universal background checks” to Washington State, brought in the supposed 250,000 signatures they’ve collected so far to get their initiative on the ballot in 2014.

That one needs to go down in flames.

What a sad existence they must lead

When they are afraid of adverts for firearms, most of which are 50+ years old.

I also thought it was funny how people used their smartphones to tweet about how their source for “free” food shuts down. But still apparently haven’t figured out that the same organization now their health insurance coverage.

But then again, I have been called a sick fuck many times.

If…

If you’re not all that bothered about the government being shutdown OR about the debt ceiling lapse, you might be an Economic Traitor.

But only to those who could be considered Philosophical Traitors.

I think I know

What I want for Christmas

5500__orig

That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is 10 solid silver replica 7.62×51 cartridges, each weighing 2 ounces, for a total of 20 ounces, in a special presentation box.

You can find this, in the 10 pack or in singles, along with solid silver replicas of 9mm, .45ACP, 12ga. .50 BMG and 20MM at the Northwest Territorial Mint store.

I am actually kidding about someone buying for me (unless you realllly want to), but you should go there and partake for yourself.

And if you’re local, hit me up and I’ll meet you there and we can go silver-shopping together.
