First, the left cried foul and stated that the exit poll results showed massive voter fraud in favor of GWB. We we instructed that we must get to the bootom of it, and that the exit polls were actually more important than the popular vote or electoral college. On Monday, Oliver Willis (Occupation: Tool) posted about right-wing bloggers pointing out the good Dr. Martin Luther King Junior’s conservative ideals. He called it (to accurately paraphrase ) ‘funny that the righties are trying to make Martin Luther King a right-wing icon’.
Geez Oillie, I see nothing of the sort. What I saw were the mere pointing to facts that King held some ideals that are thought of as ‘conservative’ more often than not.
He then goes onto say this,
“No, I’m sorry. We get Dr. King.”
I’m sorry Ollie, I may be mistaken here, but I didn’t think that anyone or any group could ‘OWN’ someone. Even as intellectual property.
I’ll have to go back and check my Constitutional Law, but calling someone ‘yours’ is akin to treating them as property, and if I’m not mistaken, we outlawed that a while back.
Now, I understand that you are of small mind and that you probably wouldn’t remember any of that, but you should be more sensitive to people’s feelings on this very touchy subject.
If you are going to deny that King never had one single thought along the lines that the people you pointed to were speaking of, you may very well be a fool.
But if you are going to try to say that those topics are of no consequence and that you and those on your side of the political ailse are the only ones who can claim to understand Dr. King’s work, I believe that I am going to have to ask you for an explanation as to your claim to ‘ownership’.
I always thought that King’s work was one that we all had to share.
And please, don’t bother bringing the race card in here, I didn’t.
Just an addition to yesterday’s post, here are the specifics on the Repubs case that is set for tomorrow.
In a filing in Chelan County Superior Court, the GOP said preliminary comparisons of a statewide voter file obtained Saturday from the Secretary of State’s Office and other databases showed:
*437 provisional ballots were counted without first being verified.
*37 felons who have not had the right to vote restored voted in the election.
*9 dead people were credited with voting.
*20 people in Washington who also voted in another state.
*10 people voted twice
That totals 513 out-of-bounds votes. Nearly four times more than the 129 vote spread. Let’s all hope for the best.
In more Ohio News, it seems that not only did John F’ing Kerry spit in the face of Martin Luther King Jr on his special day, he also seems to have told a fib.

Florida DNC members endorse Howard Dean for Party Chairman.
The Florida delegation to the Democratic National Committee has voted unanimously to endorse Howard Dean to be the party’s next chairman, bucking an effort to orchestrate an endorsement of one candidate by all 50 state party leaders at the same time later this month.
The decision, announced yesterday by Scott Maddox, the Florida Democratic chairman, is a major lift for Dr. Dean, a former governor of Vermont, and it is a shift in a contest where most Democrats have been holding back from endorsing any candidate in the crowded field.
Mr. Maddox said in an interview that Florida made its endorsement despite some Democrats’ concerns that Dr. Dean might not be the right ideological symbol for the party as it tries to regain power because of his liberal views on some issues and fervent opposition to the Iraq war.

I got to see the haul that the City of Seattle took a couple years back when they were trading ‘Guns for Tickets to Sporting Events’.
I think I remember actually crying that day.
Also, as you may or may not know, the Analog Wife works for a local 911 call center. You wouldn’t believe the calls she gets from little old ladies whose husband has passed away and they want to just get the guns out of the house.
Just this last weekend a man called saying his wife was suicidal and he wanted the police to stop by and take all of the guns from his house.
I keep telling her to let them know a plainclothes officer who looks surprisingly like me will be stopping by shortly to gather them up.
She says her bosses might not look upon that very kindly, though.

The state Democratic Party is asking a Chelan County judge to limit Republicans� ability to collect certain information.
That is quite an odd request, don’t you think? What exactly do they want to hide from the (R)s?
Whatever it is, i’d like to see it.
In other election news, Michelle Malkin has an update about the goings on in Wisconsin, where they had a Guiness Book of World Records number of unverifiable Same-Day Voter Registrations.
Rep. Stone today received a call from the Election Commission. They actually had 73,000 same day votes cast. 10,000 voter registration cards could not be sent because they have no addresses or incomplete or inadequate information. Using the same one third return rate that means in Milwaukee alone more than 25,000 illegal votes were cast. You can expect that the cities of Racine, Kenosha and Madison to have similar results.
By the way George Bush lost Wisconsin by 12,000 votes.
She also links to Dirty Harry of Stranded on Blue Islands Blog who says,
“Milwaukee’s population is around 600,000. Of voting age: 430,000. According to election officials 83,000 people same-day-registered to vote. That’s 20% of eligible voters. I can’t find statistics to compare that number to prior elections but it sounds high. (If someone has the numbers, please forward.)
“In 2000 Al Gore won Milwaukee by 22 points. Kerry won by 35! That contradicts a lot of trends — even Wisconsin ones.”

I have been seeing the discussion of bloggers taking money and public disclosure and all that going around. Then I saw this post from Oliver Willis basically accusing the upper echelon of the right wing bloggers of all being on the take.
Too bad he cannot prove any part of it. Ain’t that just like a leftie though?
Also too bad is the FACT that he takes money from uber euro loser, George Soros, all the while crying about Halliburton and their campaign contributions to Bush.
So, I guess that Willis should change his byline to:
