One does not simply backhand the US intelligence establishment without consequence

…unless you defect to, say, Russia. But Hillary can’t do that. Oh, would that the delightful piece quoted below prove to be prescient. I am sure that casual mishandling of classified data is rampant among the political elite in DC, but as with most casual legal transgressions, if they all have the nation’s best interests at heart (and I believe most of them think they do), then no harm, no foul, and they police themselves.

The problem with the Clintons has always been that they took the parallel attitude that prevails in business and law, and took advantage of it by brazenly pushing their transgressions all the way to the edge as a routine course of action. Obviously having her own server is an extension of that attitude, as you’ll see if you read the below link.

Where that fails is that if her team helped in any way to ensure a Petraeus is nailed (to get rid of what would have been Hillary’s most formidable competition for the presidency) — and for what I presume are fairly routine practices among the top, trusted folks — the intelligence community takes note, and not in a good way. Money quote (emphasis mine, and you will want to read the whole thing):

The media correctly saw the news as political trouble for Hillary, but they missed two other crucial elements of the story. Somebody high up in the intelligence community leaked that story. And Hillary faces far more than political trouble. She’s being fitted for an orange jumpsuit.
