Today in Hoplophobia

He says he is a philosophy professor, but Jack Russell Weinstein seems like any other dimwitted hoplophobe to me.

In this video, Professor Weinstein lays out his philosophy on Open Carry:

Essentially, it is OK to steal from a restaurant (aka: leaving without paying your bill) if a person who is open carrying walks in. To make this morally “right” in his mind, you have to be afraid for your life. Whether or not you have to scream and flail your arms as you run out is, apparently, optional.

Likewise, if you are shopping at the supermarket and see a person open carrying, you are morally OK to bring your cart to a stop or set down your basket and walk out empty handed. All to prove a point to businesses that you won’t spend money there as long as they allow people to open carry.

His philosophy is as follows: The constabulary is OK to open carry, but citizens are not because “Those who conceal their guns are ready for trouble, but open-carry activists are looking for it.”

He is an unwitting advocate for concealed carry. That’s nice of him. I guess I should just be happy that he doesn’t want to take his shirt off and carry around Markley-ist signs.

Personally, if I were a resident of North Dakota, I’d make him prove his point and be sure to eat at the same place and the same time as he does.

Hey, if people faking asthma or coughing attacks at the slightest hint of tobacco smoking in the air to shame smokers worked to lessen smoking in society, then faking a freakout might work to shame gun-carriers.

I suggest you do this in the presence of cops, military officers, and the secret service. When I smoked and someone started this I’d pull out a cigar and light up. Worked every time.

Alinsky tactics from a Marxist? Say it ain’t so.
