In a Laboratory Once Upon a Time, at work was a Doctor named Frankenstein

We’ve all borne down hard on a ratchet* working on an engine or the like. Now I know what it feels like to be on the receiving end. I tell you what, it feels pretty weird.

Got a dental implant the other day; doc screwed a thing very like the one pictured into my jaw with a cute little dental ratcheting torque wrench.

*heh.

Have one also. Had to replace it three times as the dentist first used an “experimental” screw that failed after about a year and the second top post failed (broke off). I had a choice of bridge with very high likelihood of loss of support teeth over time or trying another type of post implant. The third replacement has been rock solid for nearly 12 years now. Funny insurance companies still rate implants as “experimental” and don’t cover there use at least when I got mine….
