Feiler Faster Meets The Last War

Today I saw a horribly vague “article” quoting DiFi and some other goofballs claiming that we’re less safe than before 9/11 due to all these new easily-concealed missile weapons, oh deary dear.

What weapons, I couldn’t say, ’cause they weren’t in the article! This is journalism?

Nosed around and it looks like the source is this interesting piece from the Economist, the usual suspect for elite handwringing. What’s interesting about it is the comment by Connect The Dots demolishing the premise. What counts, he says, is precision GPS-based targeting available to everyone now, so munitions don’t have to be big or fast to be effective. Worrying about a new superfast missile or torpedo, he says, is like worrying about a faster horse in the age of the automobile; now one drone can kill a tank or end a war. I like the implications; read the whole thing (not just because I can’t embed the comment, neither).
