There was an episode of Monster Quest or whatever it was called, where they got hold of a nail board from up in Canada with a 16+ inch long, 5-6 inch wide primate footprint with unknown non-human primate DNA. I’d be even more suspicious of the source than usual in such matters, except that Monster Quest had no problem with going “yeah, we didn’t find anything, and we can pretty much tell you in this case that there’s nothing to be found”, and did so on just about every other look for sasquatch they ever did without any hesitation whatsoever.
Never heard anything more on it, either verifying that they REALLY found said DNA, or that no, they were doing it wrong.
