I appear to be officially unemployed.
For the first time in multiple decades I cannot list an “employer” on paperwork.
However, I am not yet enrolled in the “Government Teat” program, partly because I’m not exactly sure how to do so. But I’ll figure that out and will likely make that happen next week.
Trade school starts mid-September, so it appears that I am at the beginning of a vacation of sorts. But I am also without income. So, while it would appear that this year’s Gunblogger Rendezvous would be in my future, the cobwebs in my wallet speak otherwise.
I hope this means I’ll be able to post more here as soon as I get into a schedule. I’m going to make that a goal. I’ll also be doing extensive yard work, eliminating that damn honey-do list, helping out family and working at getting my motorcycle endorsement during this time.
Getting back into “fighting shape” will also be on my list of things to do. Working 50+ hours a week on a night shift will contribute heavily to making you fat and slow. This needs to be fixed in short order, so I recently bought a bicycle and now I’ll finally get to use those parks I’ve been contributing tax money to for so many years. Also, The Wife purchased a treadmill this spring for the rainy days soon to be upon the PacNW.
I guess that is about all. I’ll be back tomorrow when I am finally adjusted to this thing you all call “daytime”.
Yeah, yeah, Tom. I’m working on it.
Sorry to hear you have joined the unwashed masses. Dunno what you where doing but the government is ever stingy with bennies. Once you get past the gate keepers it can get easier, but endless hoops abound.
Good luck looking for new employers if you are going that way.
I know what that’s like! Good luck with present-tense projects and the future to come.
Best of luck finding something new.
You can do it all online in minutes. You don’t get a penny for your first week of unemployment, it only kicks in on the second week. No more Federal extensions so you’ve got 6 mos and the clock is on now.
On a brighter note, what trade school do you recommend? I’m trying for a union apprenticeship but a backup plan is needed.
