There Should Be a German Word for the Growing Feeling That Something’s Not Quite Right

Maybe there is. What I’m talking about is encapsulated in this vid for a kewl product.

So, at what point in the video did your brain stop trying to figure out what was off about the whole thing and decide “Oh! it’s probably a European commercial! Well, that’s all resolved nicely! I suppose I can actually focus on the product now.” For me it was about 2/3 of the way through, when the IKEA-style graphics popped up.

And yes, the element that kicked it over for me was realizing that the commercial was too smartly done, and had too many facts, and far too little hype, to be found on American TV. Sigh.

Incidentally, speaking of useful German words, I’ve been feeling more and more Torschlusspanik over the past few years. Useful concept. Focuses the mind, you know.

And how about a German word for “D’OH! Why didn’t I invent that five years ago?” This gadget is exactly something I should have thought of, and built.
Torschlusspanik: yup, been having that myself of late. And in no position, currently, to do anything about most of those closing doors.
