Actually, some of you Browncoats probably already know this. I only found out last night.

That is sort of cool. But, I have to admit, as much as I like the Firefly series and characters and ship, the technical details of their universe always bothered me. The physical layout and travel mechanisms and distances and speeds etc don’t work. It’s a character-driven story, to it’s not a really critical item, but as someone with some knowledge of physics and astronomy, it REALLY bugged me.
That’s why I’m writing my own script, so the universe makes sense 🙂
“All of them… better worlds…”
Yeah, the Operative totally played into the Bishop concept, though I do believe the former was 100% organic.
Anywise, knew that – but do you know about the easter eggs on the DVD interface menus? Adam Baldwin sings “The Man They Call Jayne”!
As for the ‘verse, there is a map out there somewhere of how it works, but basically it boils down to a supergiant solar system with lots of gas giants and lots of habitable moons orbiting the gas giants.
It doesn’t work, really. But that doesn’t make me enjoy the stories any less. I nitpick the hell out of sci-fi shows/movies when I watch them, which makes some of my friends think I dislike them. Not so at all! But I keep having this idea that eventually maybe I could tell one a little better. Maybe. If I work on it a lot harder.
If that’s the case, waitin’ for an Alien/Predator/Firefly mashup here, boss.
