Boomershoot 2012 . . .It’s All Good

David brought his Millennium Falcon shooting rest for his pistols:

Phil brought another couch to reinforce his motto: “Just because one is in the middle of nowhere in a wheatfield in Idaho is no reason to be uncomfortable”:

Scott and Phil massaged Phil’s .308 a bit:

Along with Scott’s new .308:

I don’t much like Sunday afternoon when all the shooting is over.

It’s time to pack it in:

Undetonated boomers are rounded up:

The bowling ball morter guys are searching for their balls:

Back in town we take our good friends to the local Mexican restaurant for the post-Boomershoot dinner:

I musta been hungry:

urrrrrp:

The RNS crew does the obligatory photo op prior to departure on Monday morning:

And finally we all depart Orofino toward our home bases, David to California, Phil and Scott to Tacoma, WA and I’m heading back up the Clearwater on Highway 12 toward Missoula and on to Colorado and then New Mexico before returning to Michigan.

God I love this part of the country!

Hope everyone has a healthy and prosperous year until next April when that wonderful activity known as Boomershoot rolls around again. Hope you all can make it back.

THANK YOU, JOE

It was good to see you guys again! That Mexican place is awesome, I had so much leftover from my Friday dinner that I used a bit of it with the hotel eggs for breakfast the rest of the weekend.

I’ve uploaded a bunch of pics to Barron’s site – as soon as he gets a link to a gallery for them and you get a chance to go through them, let me know if there are any you’d like a higher-res version of. The uploads were scaled down from 12 MP 4256×2832 to be only about a 1064 on the long side. Some are pretty generic, some are pretty good, a few are cool if you look close (I got one guy firing his AR with the bolt still back and bras in mid-air just millimeters from the ejection port, for example). Not quite all pics were taken by me – Sarah wondered around with the camera for a while, too – she got a couple of nice ones.
