What the Left Wants

Opening line to the celebrtatory Khadaffy post @ the DKos

“This is Awesome”

This is what they’re celebrating. It’s not the picture Kos is using, but this is what they’re celebrating.

Executions without trials. Also known as “Social Justice”.

Does anyone doubt that the “Occupiers” would like this to be their preferred solution to “The Rich”?

For YEARS I’ve seen the loony liberal lefties calling for a French-style revolution and a guillotining the rich. None of those calling for such a revolution seem to realize that after the Revolution came the Terror, with plenty of innocents dying, and it only ended with the rise & fall of Napoleon, whom -through our lack of good history instruction- everyone thinks was just a short guy with megalomania issues who had a jaunty romp across Europe which ended at Waterloo.
Unfortunately most of our teachers are folks who think “Hey, socialism can work, even though it never worked in Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela, etc. It’ll work this time!” I got taught by a Brit who said “you [Americans] rebelled because you didn’t want to pay taxes, and look at this country now.”

There’s something really unsettling about the reaction here. I’m glad that dictator’s gone but unsure why the gleeful dead body shots are necessary on the news. Are we celebrating mob justice? Between that, and the favorable coverage of the OWS, I’m a little perplexed.

There’s the conspiracy nut part of me that says the round to the stomach and the round to the head were specially ordered to prevent a courtroom debacle where ol’ Moammar starts running his mouth about how everything was going smoothly for him until he changed some oil contracts, then suddenly the British and French got all belligerent, as did the Wuss in Chief of the USA.

Especially after the efforts by Gaddhaffi to rehab his world image. Doesn’t it seem like there’s something missing from this whole thing? Obviously, he wasn’t a good guy, but was he the worst? Far from it.
