Not a negotiating strategy.Read the last few paragraphs of Klein’s piece to see what I mean. He admits that if the Republicans merely prevent any new taxes for the next few years. “something like the Ryan budget will become inevitable.” Which just warms the cockles, don’t it?

That seem to have forgotten how HW Bush got hoodwinked by Mitchell and lost the election because of it.
Those without principle are always surprised by those who have them.
But the article also points out that principle or no, the desire to reduce (or at least not increase) the tax burden appears to be unattainable by the Republicans currently in office. Unless I misread it somehow.
