One thing that I forgot to mention was that I was amazed by just how many free camping spots there are in this area…incredible places on the river or with great views of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams. I will never again go to state parks or any other crowded location. “Getting away from it all” is the best part.

I’d like to get a bit more specific directions to some of the camping areas you are talking about, and I’ve never wandered around in that general area before. KeeWee and I might head down that way from Whidbey for a weekend before summer is gone. Maybe some weekend you are headed that way too? Maybe even bring Phil?
