Early Soundboard: Cheer the Fuck Up Edition

Entirely too much doom-n-gloom circulating among my favorite gunbloggers these days. First Kevin closes shop, then Barron follows suit, Breda’s muttering threats of packing up, ai yi yi!

I’m gonna have a mini-megapost up tomorrow or Friday (aw hell, this weekend sometime, sorry) tentatively titled “Symbols,” about why recent events aren’t quite the harbingers of inevitable doom as some, including me, have painted them at first glance. Good stuff’s happening, neighbors.

Until then, have some good music! Deriving meaning from the sequence of song titles is an exercise for the listener.

We need some perspective. Remember how things were in the early 90’s? Remember the ‘Assault Weapons Ban’? Remember Waco? Ruby Ridge? How many states could you legally CCW in?

We are *far* better off now than we were, even with the current problems. We have more states considering constitutional carry. We have supreme court rulings in our favor. We can carry in almost every state in the union. Here in WA I can finally use suppressors. Yeah, there are still problems. The hope and change administration has stomped all over our civil rights, but I think they may be in for a surprise in the next election — even their supporters are unhappy with them.

FYI – I’m seeing an askimet php stripslashes error when I post. It seems the post made it through anyway but you may want to check your wordpress install.

Yeah, tinkering’s still underway. I’ll bug Phil to see if he can tuck that particular bit back behind the curtain, though.
