Boss gave me two free tix to see some guy named Rich Vos at the local comedy club. Wife and I and a couple friends will check it out tonight. Hopefully he’s funny. At least we’ll get a nice (albeit expensive) dinner out of it.

How was Vos?
He is on Opie and Anthony fairly regularly. Very funny although they make fun of him to no end for his stupidity and mispronunciations.

He wasn’t bad. He was sort of phoning it in, though. He was very funny and quite sharp when interacting with the audience, but didn’t seem to have a great store of really funny material for when he wasn’t ad-libbing. The “stupidity” you mention was absolutely not on display; that must be part of his particular act for Opie and Anthony.
We thought he could have done a lot with the East Coast-West Coast dichotomy of a New Jersey guy visiting California, but there was very little acknowledgement that he was even in the San Francisco Bay Area, much less California or the West.
Bottom line: an entertaining evening, but we’ve seen better.
