Living near the Port of Tacoma and working near the Port of Seattle, I have seen something very similar in action.
It is not really “laying” its own track though. It is actually only lifting the existing rails and the removing and replacing the foundational wooden ties with concrete ones.
Don’t get me wrong, it is still damn impressive.
