Update on David

My adventures with acute renal failure continue, but hopefully not for long. I’m out of the hospital, at home, doing outpatient dialysis 3x/week. (UPDATE: Likely not anymore!!) This past Monday’s blood test numbers arrived a couple days ago, and for the first time my kidneys appear to be back online to a degree. Today I’ll find out Wednesday’s numbers and if they’re showing a good trend, as I expect they will, I may be done with this dialysis stuff next week. UPDATE: As of Wednesday my kidneys were operating at 51%; Monday’s dialysis has been put on hold in favor of a blood test. Things are looking good!

Incidentally, it’s not every regulatory attorney who beats a certain three-letter fed.gov revenue agency (yes that one) to its knees, in a case that took five years, from his hospital bed. I didn’t do much from the hospital except watch all the strings come together and provide some mild direction to the attorneys on the ground, but still, I’m kinda proud of that outcome.

Being happy to be alive just adds to the pleasure!
