A 20-year-old Tacoma man accidentally shot himself in the leg while in his car Wednesday morning in Tacoma, Tacoma police reported.
The man told officers he was clearing his gun to it put away before getting to his second job, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. The gun went off and the man was shot in the leg. The injury was not life threatening.
The shooting occurred in the 1700 block of South 38th Street shortly after 6 a.m.
Troopers found the man, Fulghum said.
The man had just gotten done with his pizza delivery job and was headed to the second job at the time of the shooting.
So, not only is the guy shot, he’s going to lose his delivery job and probably have some jail time for not being able to legally possess a pistol.
In his defense, having a personal firearm is a very good idea in that neighborhood.
this is a serious issue I have not been able to solve. Every time a firearm is handled there is a non-zero chance of a problem. The only time I have to touch my firearm during my day is when trying to keep it in compliance with gun laws.
