Getting their whine on

The folks at the hyper-Lieberman-hating leftosphere blog, FireDogLake, were comparing the Senate and House health care reform insurance bills to the system up and crawling in Taxachusettes yesterday.

It was a truly boring screed until I got to the point where they started discussing costs.

While I don’t think all the Senate subsidy levels have been released, making a one-to-one comparison impossible, it appears that the Senate bill offers an affordability opt-out for the affluent–families making $114,401–that the MA program doesn’t have, but requires the middle class to pay higher premiums–$441/month versus $364/month for a family making $66,150; go figure, the House of Lords screwed the Middle Class again.

The higher of those two numbers totals $5292 per year for health insurance.

If you’ve ever read or listened to the stats the leftists toss around in favor of a Universal system you know that that is what they say the average family was paying for insurance ten years ago. That is half of what they say an average family is paying now. And that is still too high?

I guess they were serious about only settling for “Free”.

They could gain a clue if they went to Zombie’s site and read his excellent post on “Why America hates Universal Health Care”.

And while you all don’t need a clue, you should go over and read it too.

If we don’t beat this now, there will be more than just one La Clinica de la Raza payed for by your tax dollars.
