RNS Quote of the Day 06/18/09

From this thread at the Volokh Conspiracy:

My gun club rations purchases of a whole bunch of different kinds of ammo (9mm at inflated prices – limit 2/day). They sold out of Barrett 50 caliber sniper rifles last week. Huh?

I think the gun bubble started, a month before the election, with a genuine fear that the Obama administration would ban guns and/or ammo. Now it appears people are buying because they fear civil unrest as a result of economic collapse.

Overall, it’s kinda scary.

Preachin’ to the choir, here, I know, but the number of Volokh readers expressing these sort of sentiments is remarkable to me. Just another indicator, if the sales weren’t, that folks are wakin’ up. By the way, that quote’s by John Moore of Useful Fools blog. Haven’t read him before. Will have to check him out.
