My Favorite Boomershoot 2009 Photo So Far

That’s Rache, caught in action the first time I’ve ever fired her, and she’s dead-on at 25 yards.

I made the explosive target, too. 🙂

Best. Sighting. In. Ever.

That is a very nice photo.

I talked to Xenia last night. She is sorting through the photos and will have a collection for you before too long. She and I combined took 1213 photos. Some of those were of things of no particular interest to Boomershooters such as when the kids were camping out at the Taj. But most are good Boomershoot photos.

I’m mostly “decompressed” from the event now and will start posting pictures and stories before long.

It probably goes without saying, but I approve. Thoroughly.

Did you get the chance to use her on the line for the main shoot? Any luck? Vera is still my only platform even moderately approaching the range necessary for Boomershoot, and I am still a bit apprehensive as to her abilities at 400 yards.

Linoge, I didn’t, but ET of TowhichIreplied blog, did, and offhand with iron sights she’s capable of man-sized groupings on the dirt berm at 375 yards. While he did that, I was busy shooting Strad, the HK clone, offhand at the same target, and he was quite capable of the same performance — Aaron Neal of Dad’s Garage blog showed me that you can even get a surprise break on that horrible HK trigger if you just go sloooowly….

And you named yours “Vera.” I’d not seen that, but it’s just perfect….

Joe, that’s fantastic! This may be the best-chronicled Boomershoot ever.

Wait ’til you see the anvil launch and fireball photos Dave the RNS Staff Photographer took from the hill behind the site. Hopefully I can get them online in the next week.
