He’s right you know

Anyway, in the store that I went to yesterday, when I arrived at the register after raiding the pallet that had several 24 can cases (in shrink wrap) of veggies and filling my cart, the cashier said, “wow, you must really love veggies”. It’s inevitable that this will happen.  People are just trying to be friendly. So I replied uncomfortably ”they’re for the shelter”.  I felt a little guilty because she “awwwww’ed” and said how good of me it was, and all I said was “everyone’s got to eat”.  Truly, they are for my shelter…

The BadIdeaGuy

I still love hearing the story told by my mother in law about the time she was taking advantage of a sale at her local WalMart and had her cart full of Butter, Flour, Sugar and other staples. The check out guy said “Do you know something I don’t know?”.

  1. TheGunGeek says:

While at WallyWorld a year or two ago, I was the third guy in a row at the sporting goods counter to buy in the neighborhood of $200 worth of ammo (back when that was more than a few boxes) and as she was handing me my bags, the clerk asked “Do you guys know something I don’t know?”

My response? “If there was something causing some of us to stockpile ammunition, do you think we’d go around telling everyone?”

I can’t recall having ever seen the particular expression she gave me. After a pause for effect, I told her that there wasn’t anything I knew of, that I was sure it was just a coincidence. She seemed rather relieved. At least, that is, until I muttered “Coincidence? Yeah, right.” just loud enough for her to hear as I turned to leave.

I was buying the ammo anyway. The entertainment was just a bonus.
