Not quite a fire sale

But they’re still hoping for a fool with money burning a hole in their pocket.

Yes, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer is for sale and I’m rooting for no bids.

This is the paper whose Editor famously told America that it was his “job” to be “The Decider” as to what was “news” and what wasn’t. He “Decided that it wasn’t important to run a picture of two suspicious men aboard our very vulnerable ferry system. And he was put upon a pedestal by the left for it.

But you’ll remember that when a certain duly elected Chief Executive of the United States said that he is “The Decider” of his office’s policy, we got to hear about it for years.

If one standard is good, two must be better, right?

Meanwhile, the left is dabbing their eyes with a hankie for the PI. they have a hatred they feel righteous in holding for the Seattle Times because every month or so they come up with an Editorial like this one.

We have barely over a half a million people in this city and we have two daily newspapers and I think you can see the problem here. Even if half of the households signed up for seven-day a week home delivery service of this particular paper, it wouldn’t be enough to keep the doors open. It would literally take half of every man, woman and child within the city buying a paper out of the street box at prime cost to save this bloated monster.

Good riddance, I say.
