And what is so surprising?

A number of people around the web are getting up in arms about this story about the “recycle/compost inspectors” in the Silly by the Bay.

Why?

Have folks forgotten that Seattle started this idea? That the city employs a virtual herd of people whose sole job is to not only attempt to bust homeowners for not separating their refuse, but also to bust garbage truck drivers for not checking for recyclable/compostable materials in the trash, and has done so for almost a half a decade?

Sheesh. I told y’all it would become popular.

  1. DFWMTX says:

Get the homeless to sort it. Many already go through the trash looking for recyclables to sell.

Oh yeah, I forgot; we’re supposed to offer the homeless housing, food, and medical care, not jobs.
