Yesterday, the Democrats in Congress blocked legislation that would have allowed drilling off our own shores, so long as it was past the horizon line (aka: minimum 50 miles and out to 200 miles offshore).
I do believe that CNN said just moments ago that the average price nationwide was now $4.06 per gallon.
Stupidity got us into this mess, and stupidity will get us out.

When the Sierra Club’s representatives are promoting the idea drilling of oil, you know two truths:
1: That the technology to replace fossil fuels has not yet arrived
2: We cannot wait for it to arrive while starving ourselves.
Unfortunately for us, the Democrats ignored this honest testimony.

You have to also remember that the .gov gets a royalty payment on oil as it comes out of the ground of around 7%. At 130 a barrel the .gov is making a killing. They actually have a revenue stake in high oil prices on domestic production. Job security for me though.
