Good for Arizona

While perusing the leftosphere I found something that none of the rightosphere sites have said one word about. I find that odd because it sounds like a “Good Thing”.

Measure backs “American Values” in state schools

Arizona schools whose courses “denigrate American values and the teachings of Western civilization” could lose state funding under the terms of legislation approved Wednesday by a House panel.

SB1108 also would bar teaching practices that “overtly encourage dissent” from those values, including democracy, capitalism, pluralism and religious tolerance. Schools would have to surrender teaching materials to the state superintendent of public instruction, who could withhold state aid from districts that broke the law.

Another section of the bill would bar public schools, community colleges and universities from allowing organizations to operate on campus if it is “based in whole or in part on race-based criteria,” a provision Rep. Russell Pearce, R-Mesa, said is aimed at MEChA, the Moviemiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, a student group.

The 9-6 vote by the Appropriations Committee sends the measure to the full House.

I found this at the racist hate monger, Dave Neiwert’s, website. He is, of course, against it because it would stop MEChA from proselytizing and recruiting for their radical agenda on public property with public money.

Neiwert describes MEChA as “the nativist right’s favorite flogging boy” and since he has appropriated his own definition of “racism” that excludes any group that isn’t isn’t of northern European descent, that is the way it’ll stay for him and his sycophants.

Personally, I believe that any group that bases it’s membership on race and/or advocates one race over another is and should be considered a “racist” group. But this definition would be too durn simple for Neiwert, who has to see racism behind every corner and white robes under ever business suit.
