RNS Quote of the Day: 02/26/08

An armed society is a polite society.

They all were very polite – as people are prone to be around so many guns.

  1. Rivrdog says:

Mr. Bronson seems to say that gunnies are polite around other gunnies because we are all so well armed.

That implies that we are not polite around anyone else.

That ALSO implies an element of intimidation which he thinks that WE recognize we project because of our arms.

    Poppycock.

My suggestion to Mr. Bronson is that we are polite because we hail from a section of society where politeness is part of our upbringing and makeup, as is insisting on the Government following the letter and spirit of the Second Amendment.

We are polite because we WANT to be polite, and we are armed because we WANT to be armed, and are permitted to be so by our Constitution.

It has nothing to do with any intimidation factor.
