I’d have just moved

The Wife relayed this story to me on Tuesday after she saw in on the tube, but I hadn’t been able to find a net-based version of it until I swung by Uncle’s place last night.

For his 1st birthday, Dad, a resident of the People’s Republic of Illinios, gets Junior his FOID card.

The law stated that only those with felonies were banned from having the FOID card, but that there were no age requirements. Dad was also smart enough to know that what the state giveth, the state will taketh away whenever they feel like it. Now that Junior has his FOID card, even if the State of Illinois decides that no more will be issued, he’ll be grandfathered in.

I just as soon not given birth to a son in a place that wipes their ass with his civil rights like that.

Oh well, there are future birthdays.
