The WRONG Legislation

Just like clockwork, here comes California legislator Leland Yee with a proposal to abolish life sentences without the possibility of parole for juvenile murderers, because, you know, we have to rehabilitate them.

Hey, FYI, Yee, officially, at least, California is still one of those states that does not consider rehabilitation to be the purpose of prison. Prison is for separating criminals from society.

Idiot.

One Response to The WRONG Legislation

  1. Rivrdog says:

Prison as a separation of society from criminals may be the law in California, but this sort of policy statment is winked at by the legislature.

In Oregon, we are NOT a community-property state, but that hasn’t prevented the divorce lawyers from asking for, and almost always getting, the exact same division of property as if Oregon WAS a community property state.

If you want to give your ex less than 50%, you will have to spend a lot of $$$$ on a team of lawyers to explain why you want to do that, or the court will throw out your pleadings and tell you to start over.

Oregon also has “joint custody” as the norm in custody disputes. In fact, the children almost always go to the woman.

Legal doctrine is fine, but means nothing to liberals. They will still interpret things the way they want to, and not according to the way they are supposed to.

That of course, is the primary reason to quit electing them, but we seem to be a little confused on THAT issue as well….
