Wouldn’t it be nice

If Washington Legislators would even talk about doing this

Idaho Senate votes to require proof of residency

After much debate, the Idaho Senate has voted 29-6 for legislation requiring people 18 or older to provide proof of legal residence in the country before receiving any kind of state benefit, with some exceptions including for emergency health care.

Sen. John McGee, R-Caldwell, the bill’s sponsor, said, “It is undeniable that illegal aliens are receiving taxpayer supported benefits in Idaho, and taxpayers should not be saddled with any of those costs, whether it’s $1 million, $1,000 or $1.”

Which is one of the reasons I’m looking in their general direction for employment and housing.

I live in Boise and would be more than happy to help point you in the right direction for housing and employment.

I bugged out of Renton in 1999 and don’t regret it one bit.

you don’t mind a bit of a commute, so get a position in Coeur d’Alene, and live over the border in ID, across 4th of July Pass if you are into a mountain commute.

I have a good buddy with a ranch up in Medimont, and he loves it in the little valley there, it’s only about 45 minutes to downtown CDA from his place.

His pistol range is right outside the back door, and were he to be a blogger, he could blog range reports while doing range time.

    THAT is the ultimate luxury.

ERRRRK! Geography FUBAR. I meant get a position in Spokane. No income tax to pay in WA, although I think that ID may try to nick you for some.

Avoid Coeur d’Alene proper, and look for one of the rural areas around it. The housing costs in Cd’A have gone through the roof, but you can still find land and houses relatively cheap once you get away from the metro area. Post Falls still isn’t bad, and depending on how long a commute you want, you could go north to Athol or Rathdrum.

Or, as Rivrdog has suggested, buy a house along the state line in WA (Liberty Lake area) and commute. By the way, Idaho respects the CCP of all other states, so you can retain your WA concealed carry and still carry in Idaho.

Idaho is a Double-Plus Good State, Elmer Keith used to live in Salmon. They have some of the best organized, maintained, and biggest network of dirtbike trails – I love going up to the Sawtooths, ride out of Baumgartner Hot Springs, or over on the other sidetowards Stanley off Hwy 75 Chemetkan Campground is at the end of Smiley Creek Road, the ride over to Atlanta is always good.

The Cabellas in Boise has a large portion of Kieth’s gun colection in a display area along with some of his trophies. There’s an anamatronic version of him sitting at his desk telling a great story about one of his hunts.

If you didn’t know, Brother Elmer was also a Mason and a Shriner.
