Who, What, Where, When, Why, How: Part 7

Note: Again, just one message so far this week, but it has numerous pictures and he seems to have gotten out of at least the big trouble he was in.

Here is where we left the Professor last week…

——————–

We turned and ran back down the hall which we had came after disabling the door from the outside again. We then exited the door into the main room again with the hanging furniture. My two hostesses were stirring a bit and, if we weren’t in such an apparent hurry, I’m sure that Mack Sauer would have knocked them cold again. Something about them truly made him angry.

We turned and went through the only other exit from this room, which was the way Mack had entered. To say that it had seen some demolition would be just a bit of and understatement. The door was lying a few feet away on the floor and the from was more of a ragged rectangular shaped hole.

Mack started tossing parts of the old door and wall out of the way so that we could get through. “We’ve got about five or six minutes or so before Candice’s goons show up. Quit staring and give me a hand.” I started working on the left hand side of the doorway while he did the right side. In just a minute or so we finally had a path clear enough to crouch our way through.

I don’t know what Mack hit this thing with, but it looked as though he had used a missle, as this side of the doorway had been on fire. We got back to the room I had woken up in and stepped out onto the courtyard.

I heard Mack say “Look out!” and then he pushed me to the ground. There was another woman wandering around the side of the house looking very distraught over what Mack had done to the house.

I don’t think she even heard us.

We started running in the opposite direction of her, Mack looking everywhere. His head appeared to be on a swivel. He looked aroudn the corner, pointed his pistol and told someone to get up against the wall.

I had figured it couldn’t have been Candice’s goons.

He ordered her to walk back the way we had just come from and into the house. She didn’t speak, but she did silently refuse at first. He cocked back as if to knock her out as well, but instead said that if she didn’t get to Candice in the next 4 minutes, that her office was going to explode. That set her off like a rocket.

We kept on running for what seemed like forever, but was really only the four minutes Mack had spoken of to the woman against the wall. I knew this because I heard a rather large explosion come from the direction of the house.

As I turned around, Mack grabbed me by the arm and said “No looking back. We’ve got to keep going. Hopefully, that took care of those broads and their toughguys. But we’ve got to keep going. I’m supposed to have a rendezvous with transport another mile out in 10 minutes. If we’re late, they’ll leave without us.”

I shrugged and kept running.

Mack slowed his pace a bit and asked me if I could talk yet. I was so tired I didn’t even try and just shook my head. He said “I’ll explain everything once we reach the transport, Professor. But for now you’ve got to try and get to talking and to remembering what happened before you woke up in that hellhouse.”

I nodded and we kept running.

A few moments later, Mack signalled me to stop and I gladly did so. We kneeled down near the bottom of a cliff-face, on one side of what seemed to be a corner on the cliff. He checked his watch. “Right on time”, he said. “Any minute now.”

We waited for a minute. Then two, then four, but still no one was coming.

Mack told me to stand and we started walking around the corner. There was a helicopter there, but it was smoking from the cockpit and there were two men lying on the ground. Mack uttered the exact phrase I was thinking when out from a divet in the cliff stepped two ladies, arm in arm.

I knew that this couldn’t be good. Especially when Mack said “Oh, Shit.”
