That is the stance of the Violence Policy Center’s Legislative Director, Kristen Rand, on the topic of the State of Florida screwing up and issuing Concealed Pistol Licenses to felons.
In Ms. Rand’s own words, the blame is to be laid at the feet of the NRA
Critics, however, say the NRA pressures lawmakers to ignore the problem.
“The people who are intimately familiar with these laws, the people at the NRA, they know exactly what’s going on,” said Kristen Rand, legislative director of the nonprofit Violence Policy Center. Florida’s gun lobby and the program’s administrators “know they’re permitting some bad people, but they don’t want the general public to know that.”
Yes, because the NRA has always stood for the gun rights of felons!
Oh wait, probably not.
What I got out of the article is the fact that she thinks people should be punished without due process. The fact of the matter is that not one of those felons that got a permit had been convicted of a felony.
